Kim Greeley knows success. As a Broker, she has consistently been in the top five percent in sales with Re/Max Twin City in Cambridge. For ten consecutive years she was the number one saleswoman and she has earned Re/Max's prestigious Platinum Award, for sales in excess of ten million dollars a year, for the past ten years. She continues to add accolades to her resume and was recently awarded another one, in recognition of her 30 years with Re/Max. This most recent award gave her a chance to reflect on her career so far, and why this one might mean more to her than all of the others.
Kim starts to reminisce and immediately jumps back to the beginning of her career. “Before I got into real estate, I spent nine years  working in a family business.” Although the field was different, she learned a lot about sales and customer service, developing the skills that would serve her so well in the future. “I've been in real estate for 30 years,” she says “but I've been in the 'people' business for 37.”
From working with first-time home-buyers, to marketing and selling million-dollar homes, Kim Greeley's career has covered every aspect of residential resale and new homes in Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo. Those experiences are invaluable to her, “I've had a wide range of clientele with various needs and concerns, and have worked through all kinds of situations and negotiations, so I know what can happen, and how to avoid it so I can make the process as stress-free as possible.” Kim also gives her clients comprehensive buyer and seller packages so that they can know exactly what to expect too. Talking about how her experience helps her, she reveals how methodical and systematic she is; “almost automated” she jokes. “It's all about catching the small details,” she says. “It's so natural for me now, I can make it easy for my clients too.”
It wasn't always so easy. When she started in the late eighties, interest rates were in the double digits and the real estate market was suffering. “Honestly, it was a tough time, when the interest rates still up around 14 percent. I really struggled initially but it was great experience. As a young person coming to such a high profile company, I got to learn from the cream of the crop and I had to sharpen my skills really quickly to keep up, but I'm fully committed and I've never shied away from hard work.” Her tenacity is genuine and hasn't diminished, it is one of her defining characteristics. In a way, it's that tenacity and consistency that the Re/Max 30 Year Service Award recognizes.
Of course someone like Kim Greeley doesn't rest on her laurels, she continues to learn and hone her skills; she will soon complete her Accredited Buyer Certification.
